The PowerLine Series of filters provide high flow softening in single, duplex or triplex configurations. When configured with multiple tanks, an integral programmable logic controller is used to operate valve functions. Flow configurations can supply filtered water to applications with needs up to 300 gpm, and higher when additional systems are installed in parallel
A Simplex systems backwash based on time of day. Units can be set to backwash daily, or up to 12 days apart. While in backwash, unfiltered water is by-passed. This prevents no-water conditions for occurring during backwashes.
A Duplex system backwashes based on volume processed. The unit can be configured to immediately initiate backwash once a volume has been processed, or the backwash can be delayed till an off-peak time. An external meter is used to track processed gallons of the system. An internal programmable logic controller is used to control the backwash sequence. Service flow for the units can be configured either as Overdrive, with both tanks online, or as an alternating system.
A Triplex system uses three tanks and backwashes based on volume processed. The unit can be configured to
immediately initiate backwash once a volume has been processed, or the backwash can be delayed till an off-peak time. An external meter is used to track processed gallons of the system. An internal programmable logic controller is used to control the backwash sequence. Service flow for the units can be configured either as Overdrive, with both tanks online, or as an alternating system.
Operating Profile
The filter shall remove suspended solids to a nominal rating of 5 micron. Ceramic based non-consumable media shall be used
for the filtration process. The system shall provide filtered water through the use of a simplex (single tank) configuration. System
Backwashes shall be initiated based on the time of day. The electric timer shall allow backwashes to be programmed over a 12-
Day period.
Backwash Control Valve
The backwash valve shall be top-mounted (top of media tank), and cast from lead-free brass. Interior pistons and components
shall be constructed of non-corrosive materials. Inlet and outlet ports shall have a 2.0” NPT connection. Valve shall operate
using a minimum inlet pressure of 25 psi. An electric motor shall be used to drive the regeneration valve by moving a piston
through its regeneration cycle. The control valve shall incorporate two cycles for the backwash process including; backwash and
fast rinse.
Media Tank
The tank shall be designed for a maximum working pressure of 125 psi and hydrostatically tested at 500 psi. The tank shall have an inner shell made of polyethylene. The outer shell of the tank will be constructed of a continuous fiberglass wrapping. The tank shall be supported by a skirt base.
Distribution System
An upper diffuser will be used to deflect the flow of water during the service cycle, preventing channels in the resin bed from occurring. The lower distribution system shall be of a hub and lateral design. The laterals shall attach to the hub by a ¼ turn quick connect. The slot design of the lateral system will provide for even distribution of water through the media bed. The distribution system will also include a layer of under-bedding using garnet.
Filtration Media
Each system shall use ceramic based filter media capability of operating in an average service flow of 10 gpm per square foot of
media. The media shall be solid, of a proper particle size, 40-70 mesh. A minimum 24” bed depth shall be used with the
system. Backwash shall produce a minimum of 50% bed expansion at a flow rate of 8 gpm per square foot of media.
